For this entry, which will be reoccurring every so often, I'm gonna recommend some youtube videos and essays I find that I really liked. Some of them will be indie animations and just really whatever niche video I find that is kind of obscure. I love watching videos while I draw, craft, or eat so I end up watching a lot in a day. I'm sure if I were normal and had a real job this wouldn't be the case but I don't so here we are! :3
Starting with an indie anime that reflects a retro style with professional Japanese voice acting and subtitles in various languages. I choose to recommend this BECAUSE it is independent and the style is retro but not in the way that is typical when some artists say it is (Sailor Moon, I love that style but it's not the only anime style ever!). The pacing is very quick and it didn't give me a lot of time to get attached to characters before things happened to them or they switched sides. I do think though this is more a proof that it can be done, people can make anime that is unique and doesn't adhere to a one-size-fits-all style. I also do think it's worth watching, I hope the story is continued and that more deliberate time is taken with plot points so that so much isn't crammed into 20 minutes.

The next one is another indie production going into the magical girl genre and again with a more unique style than some of its predecessors in the indie genre. This one is also a little quick but it IS labeled as a proof of concept. I think it's adorable and the colors are so pleasing and well done.

Time for the niche stuff. >:3 Basically, what it says on the tin, a history of the history channel and some of the more eccentric shows that aired on it as well as their weird fascination with pseudo-science and aliens. One to put on while eating or doing crafts. I recommend his other videos too.

Another one, this one is a bit silly but I enjoyed watching weird and obscure CD-Roms. Kind of inspiring in a way for finding them myself.

I never played humongus games actually! So I really enjoyed learning about the company's history, the various games in their catalogue and why they faded into obscurity.

I just like this video, I literally never heard of this monkey and the video was silly. 10/10

I have no horse in this race but I liked watching this guy breaking down why he felt the Walking with Dinosaurs 2025 show was inferior to its predecessors.

I'm starting to get sleepy lol but this animated short has subtitles so be sure to make sure they're on! It's just cute really it has no real substance but artistically I like it a lot, animating a character making a vlog with real scenery is crazy technique. I also want her purse.

I never got to watch Digimon as a kid so this was really interesting to me!

I agree with the points this guy made but I also want to add that while the Mimic game goes more in a good direction it also feels almost unrelated. It's a little convoluted and takes away the punch of most of FNAF's earlier entries.

Old malware is always really fascinating to me especially because it's always slightly horror in the surrealness of them but some are genuinely silly. Fun video to watch and learn about a few old malwares!

For this recommendation I'm doing two videos of theirs, I really liked them and despite getting increasingly sleepy I may rewatch the anime one in the morning to find some of them.

I found this game perusing and decided to try it out before actually recommending it, since Hokko Life kinda sucked actually. This game is SUPER cute. I am actually really enjoying it, it has a good pace and a steady flow in its narrative. It's definitely a "cozy" game. There's no fighting or any timed elements which I really like when I'm trying to shut my brain off BUT, there is progression! There are noticable landmark achievements and it does more than just the crafting element. It's a simple game though, there really isn't a lot of fluff or extra stuff.

The driving mechanic does take some getting used to but I think it's pretty intuitive and if you're a shit driver like I am, there aren't big penalties. There's also story involved and it's very cute, the character models are actually adorable too and I really like their animations for expressions. It's unique and nice to look at which I appreciate since I am picky about aesthetics even more so about cartoony aesthetics. 8.5/10 I recommend it when you're trying to relax and want to have that feel of progression without the added stress of timed elements.

First entry on Kiyu Finds page! I wanted a space to share stores, games, or places that I find that I want to share. For the first entry we're going with some games I've found that I'm going to try out.
Hokko Life!
"Hop off the train and into your new life in the village of Hokko! Take over the old workshop and get creative; use crafted materials and design everything in town! With complete creative freedom, what type of town will you build?"

From their steam page. I'll be honest I've vaguely seen it around cozy sites but the banner looks a little generic and I thought that it would be another Animal Crossing clone. Which isn't necessarily bad but aesthetically I feel like too many people try to copy that kind of style and don't really hit the mark. Usually what happens is that for some reason they don't want to copy the proportions exactly so the models end up looking odd or in-between two styles which is really unappealing and tends to turn me off from a game personally. HOWEVER this screenshot in particular shows to me a couple things, the player models can be cute or customized to be cute, the furniture is cute and the freedom you can place items. So it's one I'll be checking out in full soon.
